Dr. Sureshramana Mayya has been appointed as Director of Post Graduate Department and Research in Commerce. He has taken over the charge on 3rd January 2018. Before joining the PG Centre, he worked as Head, Department of Commerce at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College, Udupi. Dr. Sureshramana Mayya hails from Heroor, Kasaragod District. He completed his BBM in 1980 from Poornaprajna College, Udupi with First Class. He completed his M. Com in Personal Management and Industrial Relations from Mangalore University, M.Phil. with distinction (1996), PhD (2003) from Mangalore University under the guidance of Dr. Yashavantha Dongre. Priyanka Bhat wins in 35th Budokan Karate-Do India National Karate Championship

Ms. Priyanka Bhat, a student of I M.Com of  Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Commerce of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal has participated in Individual Kumite in Female Brown Belts 55 to 60 kgs category and has won the Third place in the 35th Budokan Karate-Do India National Karate Championship -2017 held from 24th to 26th November 2017 at Koramangala Indoor Stadium, Bangalore, Karnataka.

Principal, faculty and students of Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Commerce celebrated Deepavali at the Centre on October 19, 2017. Deepavali  is the Hindu New Year celebration lasting from one to five days. This festival of light was inaugurated by Dr. Muralidhar Rao, Principal of the First Grade College, the Coordinator of the Post Graduate Centre, Prof. Ramesh Kulai, faculty Ms. Harsha Rani, Mr. Sajan and Ms. Jenifer D'Leema were present on this occasion.
